During the meetings at the ARCTIC REGIONS Forum on April 12-14, 2023 in Arkhangelsk, Mr. Sergey Y. Agaurov, CEO of HIMMASH–APPARAT LLC, visited a Pulp and Paper mill in the Arkhangelsk region in Novodvinsk and met with the Head of this enterprise Mr. Dmitry I. Zylev.
The plant was founded in 1939, and according to data for 2021, the production volume reached 1.5 million tons of pulp per year.

During the visit, the employees showed the production process at the plant. It is important to note that the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) reduces the cost of pulp and paper production, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. This is one of the innovative approaches that are used at the plant to reduce the harmful impact on the environment.

It was also said about the social responsibility of the enterprise and the company’s plans for the future. In general, the visit to the Pulp and Paper Mill allowed Mr. Sergey Agaurov to get important information about the production of pulp and paper in Russia and understand that enterprises are becoming more responsible and take care of the environment, being one of the largest enterprises in Russia for the production of pulp and paper. In May 2022, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill proposed to adjust the scheme of reforestation and revive the system of state support for forest nurseries, and in June 2022 received the first Russian Certificate “Forest Standard”

CEO of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill noted that the plant, being the potential largest consumer of LNG, using this type of fuel, can significantly reduce production costs and reduce the negative impact of production on the environment. In general, the meeting was very informative and productive.
