Column Equipment

 Column equipment is used for absorption, desorption, the separation of many component mixtures (rectification), wet dust collection in the chemical, petrochemical, power, metallurgical and other related industries, ie interaction рrocess between liquid and gas phase based on heat- and mass-transfer reactions.

Depending on the contact method between liquid and gas there are airlift (plates) columns, spray columns, mechanical type devices.

Liquid and gas, usually move countercurrent, although there are devices with concurrent movement. Selecting the correct column type is determined by process conditions, liquid and gas flow, pressure, temperature, corrosive products, impurities, etc.

To identify and / or confirm column strength characteristics, strength calculations are made taking into account the total column loads. 


COLUMN INTERNALS

Column weight and size, their height and diameter directly depend on technological, thermal and hydrodynamic calculations made for a particular type.

In order to intensify heat and mass transfer processes, regular packet vortex nozzle is the most efficient, characterized by vast phase contact surface, higher gas phase velocity and a more stable concurrent operation mode, compared to other nozzle types.

Packet vortex nozzle high mode parameters and its design allow to create devices with 2-4 times smaller diameter than today’s units, and height (length) is 4-6 times smaller. Thus, the equipment set up on this nozzle has up to 8 times less metal used, and operation energy costs are 2-3 times smaller than modern units use.

Each project on mass transfer devices is calculated individually, all technological and economic calculations are performed.
